Benefiting at the expense of someone else without legal justification. For example, charging admission for people to view a commercial movie without notifying or paying the copyright owner. An unjust enrichment claim must show: (1) a benefit to the defendant, (2) a loss to the plaintiff, and (3) a violation of equity and justice.
