sympathy strike business definition

A collective action by workers to not perform their jobs because of a dispute with management by a separate group of workers. For example, in the summer of 2005 ground workers of British Airways staged a sympathy strike at London's Heathrow Airport with laid-off workers of the firm's catering service. Also called secondary strike.
