The oldest organized securities exchange in the United States (founded in 1790), the PHLX serves as a marketplace for stocks, equity options, index options, and currency options. The exchange offers trading in both standardized and customized currency and equity options. The PHLX was the first floor-based stock exchange to change its structure from a seat-based mutual company to a share-based for-profit company.
