A new product from a company that already markets a similar product. For example, General Mills, manufacturer of Cheerios, extended the brand with seven new varieties, including Honey Nut Cheerios, Apple Cinnamon Cheerios, Berry Burst Cheerios, and so forth. Also called flanker brand.
