A special audit to offer an opinion on whether a contractual agreement is being adhered to. For example, an annual compliance audit may be used to determine if a school district is sending appropriate student test scores to a state agency. Likewise, a compliance audit may be used to determine if a borrower is adhering to covenants in a loan agreement.
